Naturopathic medicine is primary healthcare that integrates modern scientific diagnosis and treatment with the art of traditional healing. It follows the philosophy that the body has an inherent ability to heal itself once obstacles that impede health are removed. Naturopathic doctors understand that the mental, emotional, and physical body communicate and influence each other. Therefore, every individual is treated as a whole person, and their mental, emotional, and physical states are concurrently addressed in order to get to the root cause of their health concerns. Identifying the root cause allows for long-term healing that is more sustainable than simply managing symptoms. Naturopathic medicine is considered an art because it involves treating people, not disease. Since no two people are alike, there isn’t simply one treatment approach that will work for everybody. Your health care should be as unique as you are, so every treatment plan created is tailored specifically for the individuals receiving them.
